A 17-year-old boy has denied murdering Manchester Grammar School pupil Yousef Makki in Hale Barns.
Yousef, from Burnage, died on March 2nd after being stabbed on Gorse Bank Road.
On the eve of a trial at Manchester Crown Court today, one accused teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded not guilty to murder. He also denied conspiracy to commit robbery.
He did however plead guilty to a charge of perverting the course of justice and possessing a flick knife.
A second defendant, also 17, pleaded not guilty to perverting the course of justice and conspiracy to robbery but admitted a charge of possession of a knife.
The defendants now face a jury trial at Manchester Crown Court.
The trial, before Mr Justice Bryan, is scheduled to last two weeks and is expected to begin later this week.
