American-style diner Deadwood Smokehouse is to take over the former Morley’s restaurant/bar in Hale village.

Morley’s, on Ashley Road, has been closed in recent weeks after opening in the former Stockyard unit in early 2018. Prior to that it was the popular Amba restaurant for many years.

But a deal for the vacant unit has now been completed by Hale-based Harvey Silver Hodgkinson.

Deadwood Smokehouse, which already has outlets in Nantwich (pictured top) and Mold, will now carry out a refurbishment of the restaurant and aim to reopen next month.

Owners Luke Bevis and Aidan Donovan first viewed the site in May and had an offer accepted a couple of weeks later.

Their plans for the new restaurant include a new private dining alcove upstairs, and the downstairs space – previously used for darts at the Oche Club – will be used as extra dining space.

Deadwood Smokehouse offers authentic American BBQ food including steaks, sharing plates and burgers, plus desserts, craft ales and cocktails.
