Moss Lane businesses are teaming up to offer a range of special offers and charity gifts this Saturday.
The shops making up part of Stamford House in Altrincham town centre are launching a ‘Love Moss Lane’ campaign to coincide with the Lantern Parade which will be passing nearby on Saturday afternoon.
Moss Studio-Store will be selling limited edition ceramic ‘Altrincham Angels’ Christmas tree decorations, with £2 from each sale going to homeless charity Centrepoint. There will also be discounts for anyone wishing to book pottery classes.
Violet Loves Vintage is offering 10% off full price purchases on the day, and along with Nicola Pass Photography, is acting as a drop-off point for donations for ladies’ gift bags, in aid of Reach Out Women’s Refuge. Nicola Pass Photography is also offering two free 10 x 8 prints with every photo shoot booked on Saturday.
Randalls Gifts, which has just opened a second Altrincham shop on Moss Lane, is collecting toys for the Salvation Army and offering 10% off in store on the day.
Children’s clothing boutique Bumkins is collecting for Cash for Kids Mission Christmas and people are encouraged to drop-off new unwrapped gifts. It’s also offering 20% off current season collections.
And on Monday 9th December, Cardwell Theatre School will be offering a one-hour musical theatre and street class at a discounted price of £5 with 25% of the proceeds going to Francis House. Just drop-in or phone to book.
Brother and Sister duo Oli and Jen, co-owners of Moss Studio-Store, said: “We wanted to collectively do something really special this Christmas, both for our customers but also for those in need at this time of year.
“We’re hoping that the Altrincham Angel is something which people will love to hang on their Christmas trees and that we might build on this each year, creating a unique and new Christmas tradition for the town.”
Moss Studio-Store has awarded its first three angels to three local stars – Sarah Walmsley, from Our Altrincham, for her contribution to cleaning and greening the town, street cleaner John Ray and Abi Richardson from Altrincham BID.
Violet Loves Vintage will also be celebrating by offering customers mince pies and Prosecco all afternoon and will be open until 6pm. Aura Music Academy’s Brass Band will play Christmas carols at 2.30pm.
Rachel Warburton, owner of Violet Loves Vintage, added: “There are some fabulous independent shops on Moss Lane, and we have a real sense of community amongst ourselves and our customers. Coming together like this to support those less fortunate than we are has really sparked the imagination of the good folk of Altrincham. Please just call into any of the shops on Moss Lane to find out more and together we can spread some Christmas cheer.”
‘Love Moss Lane’ has been supported by Altrincham’s Business Improvement District (Altrincham BID).
