Bins went unemptied across Altrincham and most of Trafford today when the entire collection service was halted early on in the shift by Storm Franklin.
The One Trafford Partnership, which manages the bin collection service, said that a decision was taken to stand down crews across the borough due to strong winds, localised flooding and a number of blocked roads.
Residents who were due to have their GREY bins emptied today will now have it emptied tomorrow, February 22nd.
Residents who were due to have their BLUE bins emptied today will now have it emptied on Saturday, February 26th, so should bring their bin back in until then.
Today’s green bin collection, meanwhile, has been cancelled and will not be rescheduled.
Residents who were due to have their grey or blue bin emptied tomorrow should present their bins as normal.
Only residents in Altrincham, Bowdon or Broadheath – who saw their green bin collection missed last Tuesday because of Covid-related staff absences – will have their green bins collected tomorrow. All other residents should wait for their next scheduled collection.
