The town’s businesses will ‘Paint Altrincham Pink’ for two weeks later this month.

Altrincham’s Business Improvement District (Altrincham BID) has been working with local charity Prevent Breast Cancer, based at the Nightingale Centre at Wythenshawe Hospital, and the charity’s ambassadors, to encourage the town’s businesses to get involved.

The programme of events will open with a fashion show with Laundry B at Jardim Restaurant on Tuesday 22nd March, and culminate in a ‘Pink the Rink’ match between Manchester Storm and Sheffield Steelers on Sunday 3rd April.

Other highlights include a styling event organised by Juice Nursery at The Edit Boutique and pink themed bike rides with the Bicycle Society.

Many of the town’s cafes and restaurants are creating pink themed menus and specials with proceeds going to the charity.

There will also be themed networking events, at the Best Western Cresta Court Hotel and The Con Club, and a 90-minute themed workout at Orangetheory Fitness which is open to members and non-members to join.

Information about everything that’s happening will be shared on www.visitaltrincham.com and www.preventbreastcancer.org.uk and social media.

Mandy White, Altrincham’s BID Manager, said: “It’s great to see so many businesses getting involved. There are some really exciting anchor events as well as some generous pledges of donations from the proceeds of sales of ‘pink specials’. There is a huge amount of local support for Prevent Breast Cancer, and we would encourage everyone to get involved either by attending some of the events or coming into town to enjoy the pink themed windows and specials.”

Caroline Bennison, from Prevent Breast Cancer, added: “We’re thrilled that so many businesses are getting involved this year and that there are so many fantastic events taking place. The fortnight is all about raising awareness as well as fundraising, but also having some fun.

“We are so grateful for the support of Altrincham’s businesses, our ambassadors, Altrincham BID and to the community as we know they will come out in force to enjoy everything that’s going on.”
