The Hale Community Trust has confirmed it is searching for a new operator for the café at The Pavilion Hale, after the sudden closure of the venue last week.
The café shut "until further notice" at 3pm on Friday, just 14 months after it opened, with no reason given at the time.
In a statement, the Trust - the charity behind the community hub on Cecil Road - said the closure followed "the decision of the current operator to step away from the business". The café had been run by Nick Banks of Altrincham restaurant Francs since its opening in May 2025.
"The café is temporarily closed following the decision of the current operator to step away from the business," the statement said.
"We're now seeking a new café operator to build on the foundations already established and help realise the full potential of both the café and our wider community hub."
The Trust was also keen to stress that Hale Library, which occupies the first floor of the building, is unaffected by the closure.
"The library remains open," it said. "The library continues to operate as normal and remains an important part of the community hub. We look forward to welcoming visitors as usual."
The Trust added: "Our commitment to the long-term future of Hale Community Trust remains as strong as ever. We'll share further updates as soon as we have more news and, as always, thank you for your continued support."
The Pavilion opened in May 2025 as the final piece of a redevelopment first approved by Trafford Council in 2019, which saw a new community centre and library built on the site of the old Hale Village Bowling Pavilion - funded by the sale of the former library site on Leigh Road for housing.
Announcing its closure last week, the café's team thanked customers for their "custom & friendship".
