Bruntwood and Trafford Council are planning a £2.5 million expansion of Foundation, the collaborative workspace at Stamford Quarter in Altrincham.
The proposals, which still need planning permission, would add about 14,200 sq ft of workspace above the retail units.
A new entrance would link the existing Foundation building to the extra floor, with new windows, a new roof and a mix of leased and managed space.
The news comes after Foundation reached full occupancy. Recent arrivals include sports marketing agency SPORTFIVE, creative agency TGG and HMRC-authorised agent Askrose, which has taken 2,910 sq ft.

Cllr Liz Patel, Trafford Council's Executive Member for Economy and Regeneration, said: "We're delighted to be able to bring plans for this expansion forward. Subject to planning permission, our aim is to create more capacity for ambitious, forward-thinking businesses - new and established - to base themselves in this vibrant working community, in the heart of Altrincham town centre."
The joint venture is also talking to retailers and leisure operators about remaining vacant units at Stamford Quarter.
