British lifestyle retailer FatFace has opened its first store in Altrincham today, creating six new jobs as the ongoing redevelopment of the Stamford Quarter continues.
The new 1,550 sq ft store brings another national retail name to the town centre, with the company confirming that further recruitment is already underway.
Located in the Stamford Quarter, the shop stocks FatFace's core clothing range alongside its latest winter collection, including seasonal knitwear, nightwear, occasionwear and gifts.
The opening follows plans submitted earlier this year and represents another addition to the Stamford Quarter as the town centre continues to evolve, with investment in retail space and efforts to attract a mix of established national brands and independent businesses.
Karen Johnston, Stores Director at FatFace, said: "We are excited to be opening our new store in Greater Manchester.
"Altrincham has a thriving retail environment with mix of independent and established brands, making it a great fit for FatFace.
"We’re looking forward to becoming part of the local community and welcoming customers through our doors."

Among the ranges available at the new store is FatFace's latest collaboration with the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A), inspired by the world of Wonderland.
FatFace currently operates 172 stores across the UK and seven in the Republic of Ireland, with an international online presence through NEXT Label and Zalando.
The new store is at 13 George Street, occupying the corner section of the former Wilko and Poundland premises.
Wilko closed in September 2023 following the retailer's collapse into administration. Poundland subsequently occupied the site from October 2023 until June 2024, when it closed after failing to agree new lease terms.

The building has since been the subject of redevelopment plans by Bruntwood and Trafford Council, which proposed dividing the former large retail unit into three smaller shops.
FatFace's arrival also strengthens the growing cluster of clothing and outdoor retailers on George Street, following the openings of Crew Clothing and Mountain Warehouse.
Elsewhere in the Stamford Quarter, the wider regeneration has included the Foundation development, now home to Nell's Pizza, Yum Cha, Lane7 and Starbucks, alongside the arrival of LOOKFANTASTIC's first physical concept store.
FatFace, founded in 1988 and acquired by Next in 2023 for £115 million, had previously reported that trading was stronger in physical stores as customers returned to the high street.
