Tributes have been paid to a community volunteer described as a "driving force behind the transformation of Altrincham".
Angela Stone, who was a well-known figure in the town centre and heavily involved in a wide variety of community initiatives, has died at the age of 56.
She was a director of the Altrincham Town Centre Partnership, a not-for-profit organisation that worked with local businesses, Trafford Council and local interest groups to influence the development of the town centre.
Her influence extended into many other areas of Altrincham life however, and she was a champion of nighttime security and safety at bars and pubs across Altrincham.
Altrincham BID described Angela as a "true force of nature and beloved Altrincham resident".
Martin Duff, a close friend of Angela’s and owner of Randalls Jewellers, as well as a former Chair and current member of the BID board, paid tribute on behalf of the BID team and board.
He said: “Angela was a passionate community volunteer and a driving force behind the transformation of Altrincham from 2010 onwards.
"Known fondly as 'the little blonde lady from the Council', she was a powerhouse of energy and compassion who played a key role in shaping the vibrant town we know today. Angela worked tirelessly with local businesses and night-time venues, always striving to represent Altrincham at its best.
"Her unwavering dedication and love for this community left an indelible mark on everyone who knew her. Altrincham is a better place because of her efforts, and her legacy will continue to inspire us all.
"Our thoughts are with her husband Trevor at this very sad time. Rest in peace, Angela."
Orangetheory Fitness, where Angela had been a founding member, also paid tribute.
"We send our thoughts and condolences to Angela's family, friends and the Altrincham Community. Angela will be missed dearly, but know her legacy will live on."
