Police say there are no suspicious circumstances after a man’s body was discovered in a canal in Altrincham.
Emergency services were called to Yeoford Drive on Sunday to reports of concern for a man in the Bridgewater Canal.
The body of a 75-year-old, whose identity has not been released by Greater Manchester Police, was discovered.
The death not however thought to be suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
A spokesman for GMP said: “Police were called at around 1.40pm on Sunday, July 19, 2020 to a report of concern for the welfare of a man in the Bridgewater Canal in Altrincham.
“Upon arrival, emergency services sadly confirmed that a 75-year-old had passed away.
“There are no suspicious circumstances and a file has been passed to the coroner.”
