The family of a woman who died in Hale on Wednesday have paid tribute to a “much-loved wife, sister and friend to many”.

Dyanne Mansfield, 71, has now been formally identified as the woman who was discovered with fatal injuries at a property on Canterbury Road.

Officers and emergency services had been called just before 9.15am on March 24th.

Paying tribute to Dyanne, her family said: “Dyanne was a much loved wife, sister and friend to many, and will be greatly missed by all.

“She really enjoyed all the time she spent on holiday, and she got a lot of pleasure and enjoyment spending time out in her garden.”

A full investigation into her death has been launched and enquiries are ongoing.

A 72-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in hospital with serious neck and arm injuries.

Officers are continuing to appeal for anyone with information to come forward and speak with police.
