A 17-year-old has been arrested in connection with last week’s “shocking and brutal” stabbing in Broadheath.
We reported on Tuesday how a man, thought to be in his early 20s, was stabbed multiple times in Woodstock Park, close to Whitlow Avenue.
The victim remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital.
The offender had subsequently fled from the scene before being pursued to a property on Craven Drive by a group of around 10 people. He also fled this location.
A 17-year-old male has now been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and he remains in custody for questioning.
The investigation is ongoing and officers continue to appeal for information.
A male and a female arrested on suspicion of a range of offences, including public order and conspiracy to commit assault, have been released on bail. A female arrested on suspicion of assault has been released under investigation.
