A dog was attacked with a machete during a terrifying robbery at a house in Altrincham earlier this week.
Police say they were called out to the address on Lloyd Gardens in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
CCTV footage shows three masked men breaking through a window at the flat where a man, his fiancée and a six-month-old baby were living.
The MEN has reported that the trio were carrying a machete, a ratchet and a firearm.
Horrifically, one of the men attacked the occupants’ dog with a machete, leaving her with large facial cuts. The dog has since lost her left eye.
The male occupant also told the MEN that a gun was put to his head during the robbery.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said that a quantity of cash and a gold watch had been stolen.
A statement said: “Police were called in the early hours of Wednesday morning (August 25 2021) to a report of a robbery at Lloyd Gardens, Altrincham.
“Officers attended and enquiries established that three men wearing balaclavas forced entry into the address while the occupants were inside.
“The occupant’s dog was attacked during the burglary.
“Further enquiries have established a quantity of cash and a gold watch was stolen.
“The investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made.”
