An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following the death of another 18-year-old in Altrincham this morning.
Officers out on patrol found a man with severe injuries on Booth Road at around 5am this morning.
The 18-year-old was in a critical condition and despite the best efforts of emergency services, died at the scene.
Enquiries have now revealed that the victim had climbed on to the bonnet of a grey Ford Ka and was driven across the junction of Dunham Road onto Booth Road.
He fell from the bonnet of the vehicle and sustained fatal injuries.
The driver of the vehicle did not remain at the scene.
Officers are now appealing to anyone who has any information that could assist the investigation to get in touch. GMP is also keen to hear from anyone who may have relevant footage - including CCTV, mobile or dashcam.

Officers are continuing to investigate "multiple lines of enquiry".
The area around the scene - including a part of Dunham Road up to St Margaret's Road - was closed off for the whole of this morning. A forensic tent was erected on Booth Road.
