An 18-year-old man has died after being found seriously injured on an Altrincham road.
The teenager was found on Booth Road, close to Loreto Grammar School, at around 5 o'clock this morning.
Police have now confirmed he died at the scene.
Officers are now working to establish what happened to the teenager, and "multiple lines of enquiry" are being followed.
The area around the scene - including a part of Dunham Road up to St Margaret's Road - was closed off for the whole of this morning.
A forensic tent was erected on Booth Road.
Police now want to speak to any witnesses or anyone who has any information about the tragic incident.
In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "Greater Manchester Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit is investigating an incident on Booth Road in Altrincham.
"At around 5am this morning (12 August 2023) an 18-year-old man was found in the road with serious injuries and despite best efforts of emergency services he tragically passed away at the scene.
"A cordon has been implemented and officers are working at pace to establish the full circumstances surrounding his death and are following up multiple lines of inquiry.
