North West Ambulance Service has confirmed that a man suffered "major trauma" in an incident involving an HGV in Timperley yesterday.
Manchester Road was closed off for several hours near Trafford College yesterday after the incident at 10.30am.
An air ambulance was scrambled to the scene (pictured above), landing on grass close to Salisbury Road, and there was a large emergency response at the scene.
North West Ambulance Service has now confirmed that a man in his 30s was taken to hospital with "major trauma".
A spokesperson said: "We responded to a 999 call at 10.41, reporting an RTC involving a pedestrian and an HGV.
"A man in his 30s was treated for major trauma and taken to hospital."
Manchester Road was closed to traffic for several hours between Sinderland Road and Stamford Brook Road as an investigation was carried out.
