Pedestrian trapped under vehicle after Hale Barns collision

The incident happened last evening.

A man was last night rescued from underneath a vehicle after a collision with a vehicle in Hale Barns.

Numerous emergency vehicles responded to the incident, which happened at around 5.30pm on Shay Lane, close to Ringway Golf Club.

Firefighters managed to free the man, who was trapped underneath the vehicle.

It's not yet known the extent of the man's injuries.

Shay Lane was closed in both directions, between Hale Road and Winchester Road, following the incident.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “At around 5.30pm this evening (Monday 18 November), three fire engines from Altrincham, Wythenshawe and Cheadle were called to a crash on Shay Lane, Altrincham.

“Crews quickly arrived at the scene and liaised with North West Ambulance Service to release a man from under the vehicle.

"Firefighters worked with Greater Manchester Police to make the area safe, and departed after roughly one hour.”
