A 37-year-old man is appearing before magistrates today charged with a series of shoplifting offences across Altrincham, Sale and neighbouring areas in Cheshire.
Marius Waul, from Deva Court in Old Trafford, faces 10 separate charges following what Greater Manchester Police describe as a comprehensive investigation by the Trafford South Neighbourhood Policing Team.
The alleged thefts are understood to have primarily targeted supermarkets throughout the borough, with some individual incidents involving goods worth several hundred pounds, according to police.
Waul was scheduled to appear at Manchester Magistrates' Court today, June 4th, to answer the charges.
The case reflects efforts by local neighbourhood officers working to tackle retail crime in the Trafford area.
