A 33-year-old motorcyclist has died following a collision with a car on Manchester Road in Timperley yesterday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the scene on the A56, near the junction with Lindsell Road, at around 2:25pm on Wednesday September 10th.
The collision involved a motorbike and what witnesses described as a grey SUV. Despite efforts by members of the public who administered CPR before emergency services arrived, the male rider was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the car remained at the scene following the incident.
Police, paramedics and firefighters all attended the collision, with Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service remaining at the scene for one hour and 40 minutes. An air ambulance also landed in a nearby field.

A cordon was established around the crash site, and the A56 was closed for several hours before reopening shortly before 11pm on Wednesday night.
Greater Manchester Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit is now appealing for witnesses to come forward as they investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Officers are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any footage from the area in the moments leading up to the collision.
