Man named and charged with attempted murder after Altrincham town centre attack

He is appearing in court today.

A 23-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder and a string of other offences following an incident in Altrincham town centre that left four people injured.

Nathan Peters, of Lock Lane, Partington, is due to appear at Manchester Magistrates' Court this morning.

He has been charged with one count of attempted murder, section 18 wounding with intent, two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and possession of a bladed article.

Police were called to Railway Street shortly after 3:20am on Sunday 30th November following reports of a suspected stabbing.

A 21-year-old man suffered a serious wound to the chest, while another man in his 20s sustained facial injuries described as life-changing. A 51-year-old man and a 52-year-old woman also received minor injuries after being assaulted.

Four victims are named in the court documents.

A cordon was put in place in the town centre following the incident as forensic officers carried out investigations and detectives gathered CCTV from nearby businesses.
