Elderly driver in "life-threatening" condition after Timperley crash

Police are now appealing for witnesses.

A man in his 80s remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries following a collision in Timperley this morning.

Emergency services were called to Moss Lane at around 9.30am after a car struck a garden wall before coming to rest against a property.

Police believe the driver may have suffered a medical episode prior to the crash.

The incident led to a section of Moss Lane being cordoned off close to the Esso garage on Stockport Road, at the junction with Shaftesbury Avenue.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses and anyone with relevant footage to come forward as they investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Anyone with doorbell, dashcam or CCTV footage from the area around the time of the collision is asked to contact police via Live Chat or by calling 101, quoting log 816 of 15/12/25.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "At around 9.30am this morning (15 December), officers and emergency services attended reports of a car colliding with a garden wall and coming to rest after hitting an address on Moss Lane in the Timperley area.

"The driver, a man in his 80s, is believed to have suffered a suspected medical episode and remains in hospital in a life-threatening condition.

"As officers progress their investigation, they are asking for anyone with information regarding the incident to please come forward."
