Altrincham Market stall The Sculpts has designed a special tile to mark Manchester City’s Treble-winning success.
City fan, and The Sculpts founder, Richard Bennett has created the special commemorative ceramic tile, which measures 6in by 6in, just in time for Father’s Day.
City’s win over Inter Milan last weekend meant they emulated neighbours United in claiming the Treble – the league, FA Cup and Champions League in one season.
The special edition tile, with a ‘C’ for City, sits alongside The Sculpts’ collection of illustrated, handmade ‘Manchester’ tiles, each depicting a different stage in Manchester’s transformation from post-industrial depression to technological and cultural powerhouse.
Richard said: “We just couldn’t let this historic moment pass without celebrating it. It’s a fantastic success for Manchester City, but also for the whole city. Only two English clubs have ever won the treble and they’re both from Manchester – that’s quite an achievement!”
Since opening their Altrincham Market stall, Richard and partner Jade King have grown their range of products, taking the distinctive designs into homewares, prints
and textiles.
There have also been several artistic collaborations with the likes of Manchester Museum and The Whitworth Art Gallery.
The Treble tile will be available online at thesculpts.com or from The Sculpts stall at Altrincham Market from Friday 16th June, and is priced at £29.50.
