Crew Clothing to open first Greater Manchester store in Altrincham

The 1,200 sq ft store will stock a variety of menswear and womenswear options.

British lifestyle brand Crew Clothing is to open its first Greater Manchester store in Altrincham town centre.

Founded in Salcombe in 1993, the company will be opening in the former Altrincham FC store unit on George Street on Thursday 10th April.

The 1,200 sq ft store will stock a variety of menswear and womenswear options, and will join Crew’s extensive portfolio of over 100 high-street stores across the UK.

The new opening, which will also create 10 new jobs in the area, is the latest boost to the Stamford Quarter and the Altrincham retail scene generally.

Crew Clothing offers an array of styles including heritage rugby shirts, relaxed but smart tailoring and the perennial classic, Breton stripe.

Starting its journey in the back of a windsurfing shop, Crew remains a supporter of British sport and is a proud partner to the Lawn Tennis Association, Henley Royal Regatta, The Red Roses and Exeter Chiefs.

The first 20 customers at the new store will receive a gift card, with one lucky customer receiving a £100 gift card.

Crew Clothing’s Head of Marketing, Naomi Parry, said: “It’s an exciting time for the brand as we continue to expand our retail offering, now with the addition of our Stamford Quarter store.

"We’re excited to welcome new and existing fans of Crew through the doors, and those customers that might have visited us at our nearby Wilmslow store.”

Crew Clothing joins a growing community of independent stores and national brands at the Stamford Quarter, including Mountain Warehouse, Parasol, Utility, Holland Barrett, Gift & Home, Next, Boots, Flannels, Sostrene Grene and Nationwide.

"It will be its first foray into Greater Manchester and this demonstrates the importance of the area as a leading retail destination for a wide range of customers.

"The brand’s heritage and hugely popular clothing range will be a hit with shoppers from the local area and further afield.”

Cllr Liz Patel, Trafford Council’s Executive Member for Economy and Regeneration, said: “It’s great news that Crew Clothing’s first Greater Manchester store will be here in the Stamford Quarter, among a host of other great brands and independent stores.

"This addition to the town’s retail scene reflects Altrincham’s growing status as a quality shopping destination.”
