Altrincham FC manager Lee Sinnott will be giving us the inside track on the Robins’ return to the Conference. Here’s this week’s despatch from Moss Lane.
We are six games into our campaign, which by my calculation, means that we have 40 games still to play. We haven’t had the best of starts with just three points so far and Saturday’s defeat at Nuneaton was particularly frustrating. Apart from the game at Aldershot on the first day of the season, we have had plenty of possession in all of the other five games, but outcomes are decided by what you do with it and we just fizzled out once we got into the final third at Nuneaton, and that was disappointing.
In many ways, the game was there for the taking, but we failed to ignite. There was a lack of spark. For all the link-up play we’ve been producing, we’ve got to be more decisive in the final third.
Whether it is psychological or not, I don’t know, but we are going to have to work on that

We managed to reduce the arrears with what was a well-crafted goal, but it was too little too late. Offensively, we didn’t get out of second gear. We had enough of the ball to have been able to ask questions of them, but you have to go through the gears.
These players are better than they are showing at the moment. Whether it is psychological or not, I don’t know, but we are going to have to work on that and start producing what we are capable of. Once we get into our groove, we will pick up points and improve our position in the table.
On Saturday, we take on Dartford, who are a couple of points ahead of us in the table, so a win would see us leapfrog them and double our points tally.
We are hoping for a bumper crowd on ‘Non-League Day’ and that lots of season ticket-holders of Premier League and Championship clubs in the North West will take advantage of the great offer that the club have made in allowing admission for just £5 on a day when there are no Premier League or Championship fixtures because of the international matches being played this weekend.
We are also hoping that lots of youngsters will take advantage of the free tickets that have been distributed to local schools during the week and parents can also take advantage of the special £5 admission offer for them that comes with those tickets.
