Timperley tennis club to host open day after investing £80,000 in new courts and clubhouse

“This is a really exciting time for Heyes Grove."

A Timperley tennis club has launched a new membership drive after investing over £80,000 in new courts, floodlights and its clubhouse.

Heyes Grove Tennis Club, on Stoney Bridge Lane, has installed three state-of-the-art all-weather courts and carried out a professional deep clean of its remaining courts.

The club now has six high quality courts – all with floodlights - for members to enjoy as the tennis season begins.

The new courts follow the installation of new floodlights and a renovation of the clubhouse, which can host events for club members throughout the year and can be hired for private functions.

To celebrate the new facilities, the club will be holding an open afternoon on Sunday 14 April from 2-5pm, giving people the chance to try out the new courts, meet club coaches and current members and find out about the different sessions the club offers to members.

These include men’s, ladies and junior practice and team tennis, junior sessions throughout the week, a dedicated beginners' group, private coaching and regular social tennis.

Anna Taylor, Heyes Grove Club Committee Chair, said: “This is a really exciting time for Heyes Grove. We spent a long time saving up the funds to make this investment, and to now have three brand new courts and three fully rejuvenated courts – all with floodlights - is absolutely fantastic.

“We have a convenient location in Timperley just off Park Road, but because we’re tucked away out of sight of the main road many residents don’t know we’re here!

"We hope people will take the opportunity to come down and see the facilities for themselves at our open afternoon on 14 April.

“Heyes Grove is an exceptionally friendly community club with tennis to suit all ages and abilities and a vibrant social calendar.

"We also have a lovely affordable venue available for private functions – and have hosted everything from children’s parties to christenings, evening functions and even a wedding reception.”

Heyes Grove Tennis Club is located on Stoney Bridge Lane, off Park Road (turning opposite Nisa), WA15 6PG. The open afternoon will take place on Sunday 14 April from 2-5pm.
