Stamford Square to host free family 'play days' - starting this weekend with Altrincham FC

You can book your tickets now.

The Stamford Quarter is launching a brand new series of family-friendly activities this summer.

The free interactive workshops, experiences, games and competitions will take place on Stamford Square as the redeveloped area of Altrincham town centre nears completion.

It will kick off this weekend, in collaboration with Altrincham FC, with football workshops led by Altrincham FC community coaches Dan and Sophie.

The workshops are aimed at children aged 4-10 and will include mini football games from 1-2pm, followed by a series of multi-sport interactive games from 2-3pm.

Free tickets can be booked via Eventbrite - and there's a special goody bag for the winners of each session.

On Saturday 22nd June, the Stamford Quarter’s community mural, created by local artists Kirsty Gabsai and Rick Eades, will be installed.

Residents and visitors who took part in community workshops throughout May will see interpretations of their words and cartoons come to life as part of the new visual art installation, which will sit on the kiosk space opposite Starbucks.

There will also be music and street food on Stamford Square to mark the occasion, and children will be able to get involved in creating the installation using spray paints and stencils.

Søstrene Grene and the Stamford Quarter will then team up on Saturday 6th July to host a series of playful art workshops for the whole family to enjoy.

Suitable for both adults and children, there will be a number of crafty crepe paper activities held on Stamford Square from 12-6pm. Tickets are free and can be booked via Eventbrite.

The "play days" are part of the Stamford Quarter’s Summer of Play programme.
