A new live cooking showdown is coming to Altrincham next month, and organisers are calling on residents to help set the challenge.
The Cheshire Cookery School has partnered with Altrincham BID to launch The Ultimate Altrincham Chef Challenge as part of this year's A Taste of Altrincham celebrations.
The event, taking place on Sunday 1st March at Altrincham Town Hall, will see chefs Robert Owen Brown and James Robert Taylor battle it out in a Ready Steady Cook-style competition using mystery ingredients chosen by local residents.
Before the showdown, two lucky locals will win the chance to create the mystery ingredient bags. Through an Instagram giveaway run by the Cheshire Cookery School, winners will each receive £20 to spend at local shops and a cookery school apron before heading out to assemble their surprise selections.
On the day, the competing chefs will randomly pick a bag and have just one hour to transform its contents into a show-stopping dish in front of a live audience. The cook-off runs from 12pm to 1pm.

Lisa Warnes, owner of the Cheshire Cookery School, said: "We are so excited to be part of A Taste of Altrincham and to bring something a little different to the day.
"The Chef Challenge is a real blast from the past and takes us straight back to the Ready Steady Cook days. It's all about having fun, supporting local businesses, and getting the community involved. We cannot wait to see what ingredients the locals come up with."
The competition forms part of the wider A Taste of Altrincham celebrations, which shine a spotlight on the town's vibrant food and drink scene while encouraging people to shop and eat locally.
How to enter: Altrincham residents can nominate themselves or a friend by commenting on the Cheshire Cookery School's Instagram giveaway post. Two winners will be selected at random and announced ahead of the event.
