Both Altrincham Interchange and Hale Railway Station were highly commended at the recent Cheshire Best Kept Stations awards.
Altrincham Interchange was Highly Commended for the Community Rail Network Award for Community Engagement.
Ian Stuart, from the Friends of Altrincham Interchange, said: “The Friends Group were very pleased to receive recognition for our community based efforts to enhance Altrincham Interchange encouraging everybody, especially the young and other community groups, to use public transport and to explore further afield by train."
Hale Station was Highly Commended for the Transport for Greater Manchester Award.

Jon Leigh, from the Friends of Hale Station, said: “We were very pleased to receive the Highly Commended TfGM Award as a recognition of all the hard work and commitment by the Friends of Hale Station.”
The volunteers on the Mid Cheshire Line Stations, whose line connects Manchester to Chester via Altrincham and Hale, were also honoured.

They won the John Hobbs award for Excellence for their display of a Station Garden at RHS Tatton that won a Silver Gilt medal.
A record attendance of 180 people saw 17 stations in the former county of Cheshire recognised at a ceremony held at Crewe Alexandra Football Club.
The awards were presented before 10 borough and town mayors by Mr Craig Harrop, Regional Director West & Central for Northern Railway.
Nantwich Station won the coveted “Best Kept Station Award”, the first time the top award has gone to this station.
