Altrincham’s new £17m hospital is to be officially opened next week by HRH The Duke of Gloucester.
The Duke, who is the Queen’s cousin and the youngest grandchild of King George V, will perform the official opening ceremony on Thursday, September 3rd.
He is due to arrive at 1.30pm and will be given a private tour of the new facilities by CMFT chairman Steve Mycio, chief executive Sir Michael Deegan CBE and deputy chief executive Gill Heaton OBE.
The Mayor and Mayoress of Trafford, Councillor John and Christine Holden, will also be in attendance, together with Graham Brady, MP for Altrincham and Sale West.
The Duke will also meet staff and patients on the 20-station renal dialysis unit, see the audiology booth in action with a young patient, and talk to staff about the expanded ophthalmology service.
He will be invited to unveil a commemorative plaque and sign the visitors’ book.
The state-of-the-art community hospital opened in April after two years of construction.
