[dropcap type=”circle”]Developers have submitted plans to convert the former Nick’s nightclub in Altrincham town centre into a development of 29 homes.
The proposal, submitted by Consensus Property, will turn Nick’s into a commercial space with a single apartment on the upper level and add a block of 24 apartments with four three-storey mews houses to the rear.
Drawn up by Calderpeel Architects, the proposed construction on the former H Nicholson’s pub will have an 800 sq ft commercial unit on the ground floor and a 1000 sq ft apartment above it on the first floor.
If approved, the existing outbuildings to the rear will be demolished and replaced with a four-storey residential block, housing nine one-bed and 15 two-bed apartments that range from 500 sq ft to 800 sq ft in size.
There are also plans to add basement parking for 34 vehicles.
If the council gives the project the go-ahead, it will be a major part in a set of redevelopments around the Regent Road area.
Citybranch, the developer behind the town’s new health and wellbeing centre, also plans to turn the current Regent Road car park into a set of 70 apartments across two five-storey blocks and add commercial units, a public square and a 300-space multi-storey car park.
