A man in his 90s has been taken to hospital after a car collided with a bus in Altrincham town centret this morning.

A man in his 90s has been taken to hospital after a car collided with a bus in Altrincham town centret this morning.

Railway Street was closed off in both directions following the crash, which happened at around 9.30am this morning close to Altrincham Hospital.

Damage to the bus involved in this morning’s collision

It’s thought the driver – who is not thought to have suffered serious injuries – was pulling out of the hospital in a VW Polo when the collision with the Diamond bus occurred.

The road was closed between the junctions with Regent Road and Lloyd Street and reopened at around 11am.

The incident occurred on Railway Street close to Altrincham Hospital

A spokesman for North West Ambulance Service said: “We were called to a collision involving a car and a bus.

“We sent one ambulance to the scene. A male patient in his 90s was taken to hospital.”

An ambulance was at the scene until around 11am
