Bowdon now has one of the worst infection rates in Greater Manchester.

The latest data from Public Health England shows that Bowdon’s rate for the seven days to January 5th was 820 per 100,000 people.

That rate represents a total of 66 cases in Bowdon, up 73.7% on the week before.

Only three places in the whole of Greater Manchester have worse current rates than Bowdon – Firswood (867.4), Hazel Grove West (866.5) and Heald Green East (831.7).

Elsewhere in the Altrincham area, rates also appear to be on a steep rise in Hale, parts of Timperley and Broadheath, although in other parts of Timperley the number of cases per 100,000 is down week-on-week for the seven days to January 5th.
