Police are investigating after a robbery in broad daylight on a leafy street in Bowdon yesterday.

The victims were apparently followed home to East Downs Road after an afternoon at Cibo and Victor’s restaurants in Hale, and were set upon by the balaclava-clad offenders after being dropped off by a taxi.

During the incident, which happened at approximately 5.30pm, the victims were attacked and robbed, with one highly valuable watch believed to be among the items stolen.

One of the victims, a 63-year-old, suffered from minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

An investigation into the robbery by Greater Manchester Police is ongoing and as yet there have been no arrests.

Last year we reported on a spate of street thefts involving watches in the area.
