Altrincham Garrick will kick off its new autumn/winter season next week with a special show celebrating musical theatre.
Curtain Up, described as an “epic reminder that the show always goes on”, will bring together songs from some of the most poular shows ever.
The stylish and elegant evening of music – which opens on Monday September 20th and runs to Saturday September 25th – will feature songs from Les Misérables, The Phantom of the Opera, Wicked, Dear Evan Hansen, A Chorus Line, Mary Poppins, RENT and more.
Curtain Up is directed by Artistic Director Joseph Meighan, with musical direction by Neil G Bennett.
Meighan said: “We wanted to create a production that celebrates the genre of musical theatre and acts as a reminder of the power and the importance of live arts.
“It is also a special production, as it marks our return to full capacity and launches our new ambitious season here at the Garrick. We’ve assembled an exceptional company who will take the audience on a journey through some of the biggest musicals of all time! There really is something for everyone in this production.”
