The Robins travel down to the south coast tomorrow afternoon as they prepare to take on Eastleigh FC in the National League.

Alty come off the back of an entertaining 3-2 victory in the FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round against National League North outfit Southport FC. Phil Parkinson’s men will go on to face Gateshead FC in the first round of the competition.

Parkinson said: “Southport dominated territory, played their game far better than we did. We have to give them credit.”

He added: “The moments we showed our class we scored. It was always going to be a bit of a banana skin.”

Parkinson praised the Alty faithful for their strong support

For now, all eyes are on the league as Alty aim to continue their impressive start to the season.

The Robins are currently 7th in the league with a total of 19 points from 10 games.

The Altrincham FC manager said: “The lads have done fantastic – what a start to the season they have had.

He added: “Hopefully people will understand the lads are putting their bodies on the line to make us successful.”

Eastleigh, who just missed out on a play-off place last season, sit in 13th position with 12 points.

The Spitfires, as they are nicknamed, have struggled for form this season, after a huge turnover of first team players in the summer. The Hampshire-based club also lost star defender Joe Tomlinson to Championship Peterborough United in July 2021.

Once Saturday is done and dusted, Alty will look forward to hosting Solihull Moors on Tuesday night in front of the TV cameras. The match will be both sides’ first televised game of the season.

On top of that, ticket prices for all supporters have been slashed to £5.

The initiative, named ‘Football for a Fiver’, aims to fill the stadium with supporters to impress viewers across the UK.

Radio Robins will be broadcasting live from the ground and the club will be providing match updates from Twitter.
