An 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of public order offences after two girls were approached on their way to a Timperley school.

We reported last week how, early on Wednesday November 10th, a man had approached a girl in Stamford Park.

A man matching a similar description then approached a second female student while she was walking on Altrincham Golf Course.

The second incident happened on Altrincham Golf Course this morning

Officers yesterday arrested a man and he remains in custody for questioning.

Inspector Cross, from Greater Manchester Police, said: “I appreciate that these incidents have caused concern in the community and would like to reassure the public that child safety is a top priority for our officers.

“We take all reports of this nature very seriously and will always investigate thoroughly, which in this case has led to us making an arrest.”
