A performance of The Rise and Fall of Little Voice, Jim Cartwright’s timeless comic tragedy, is to finally make it to the Sale & Altrincham Musical Theatre stage – two years after it was postponed by the pandemic.

The theatre group will be performing the play for a five-night run at Altrincham Little Theatre from March 29th to April 2nd.

The show will be directed by Martyn Preston

Directed by Martyn Preston and starring Kate Darlington as Little Voice, the play follows a young girl who lives with her mother and hardly ever speaks, but has an amazing talent to emulate every chanteuse from Judy Garland to Edith Piaf.

It’s described as an “engaging fairytale of despair, love and finally hope as LV finds a voice of her own”.

The six-person cast have worked hard to bring the show together and are appealing for the local community to support them as they battle to keep the theatre going.

Sarah Clark, from Sale & Altrincham Musical Theatre, said: “Local theatre has suffered so much during the pandemic – we’re desperate to keep going.

“Turn off the TV for a night and come out to Altrincham Little Theatre for a little live entertainment and escapism. You won’t be disappointed!”

Tickets are available here.
