Manchester United’s new big-money signing Antony has become the latest footballer to take up residence in Altrincham.

The 22-year-old Brazilian has moved into the house formerly occupied by Paul Pogba in Hale Barns.

The five-bedroom mansion, which Pogba bought for £2.9million in 2017 but which is worth substantially more now, features a diamond-encrusted staircase, a personalised pool table, swimming pool and a custom indoor football pitch.

Antony, who signed for United from Dutch club Ajax for £85.5m in the summer, has already scored twice for his new club.

He said would probably be altering Pogba’s pool table, which currently has the initials PP emblazoned on it.

Speaking to ESPN, Antony said: “I’ll need to change. It was Pogba’s house, there’s the P of his stuff on the table.

“Now I’m going to start changing, put Antony Santos’ AS.”

Antony added that he was “happy to be in the house that used to belong to an ace”.

Pogba’s time at the house ended badly when thieves raided the house while his children were sleeping in March.
