Agatha Christie’s compelling drama Verdict will open at the Altrincham Garrick on Monday September 10th.
The queen of the murder mystery’s play will run until Saturday September 15th.
A story of love, secret infatuations, murder and even a suicide, it has all the ingredients of classic Christie.
Having been forced to flee persecution in his home country, the brilliant and idealistic Professor Karl Hendryk leads a content and morally upstanding life, caring for his invalid wife Anya and hiding his romantic feelings towards her sister Lisa. His new pupil Helen, however, plans to change all that.

Unusually for Christie, she wrote this piece especially for the stage rather than it being an adaptation from a book.
She wrote about the play: “It satisfied me completely. I still think it is the best play I have written, with the exception of Witness for the Prosecution.”
