[dropcap=”circle”]Legendary trio The Three Degrees are the highlight of another packed season of live music, dancing and weddings at The Cinnamon Club.
The American female vocal group, formed way back in 1963, will be stopping off at the Bowdon venue on September 19th for perhaps the most intimate show of their tour.
Best known for global smash hit When Will I See You Again, the group features original members Helen Scott and Valerie Holiday.
The club will host live music every week right up until New Year’s Eve, with jazz singer Barb Jungr bringing her acclaimed Bob, Brel and Me show on September 27th and the Ben Cox Band celebrating the music of James Taylor with a special show on November 15th.
Meanwhile, jive dancing, ballroom dancing, BabyBallet, yoga and the choirs will all be back at the club at the beginning of September.
Boasting the largest dedicated sprung dance floor, you can drop in on any Tuesday night for Modern Jive (Ceroq) or you can sign up for a course of Latin American and Ballroom dancing including the dances you see on Strictly Come Dancing.
Drop in on a Wednesday afternoon or evening to see the audition-free choirs in action, where the emphasis is on fun. The club also runs a community choir called Vibrant Voices on Wednesday afternoons for those living with dementia, Parkinson’s and stroke survivors. Anybody is welcome to attend.
And on September 15th, the Bowdon Rooms will be throwing open its doors for a Wedding Open Day.
The venue’s ballroom was built in 1903 and has now hosted over 300 weddings – you can pop in and have a chat with the team between 11am and 2pm.
