Live theatre returns to the Altrincham Garrick for the first time in 15 months on Monday with a week-long run of award-winning musical The Last Five Years.

Written and composed by Jason Robert Brown, The Last Five Years is an intensely personal look at the relationship between two New Yorkers; a writer and an actress, who fall in and out of love over the course of five years.

Emotionally powerful and intimate with one of the brightest, freshest scores of the new century, it opens at the Barrington Road theatre on Monday 7th June and runs until Saturday 12th June.

The Last Five Years is directed by Joseph Meighan, part of the Garrick’s new management team who took over as Artistic Director last year. Musical direction is by Simon Murray.

Here’s what Meighan says about the musical:

This is a socially distanced show and masks must be worn. There’s also some adult language in the production.
