Roodunnit? Wagatha Christie 'trial of the decade' to be brought to life at Altrincham Garrick

It opens tonight and runs until Saturday.

The most talked-about legal battle of the decade will be brought to life at Altrincham Garrick Playhouse with a production of Vardy V Rooney: The Wagatha Christie Trial.

Opening tonight and running until Saturday 7th June, this outrageously entertaining courtroom comedy promises to bring all the drama, absurdity and jaw-dropping moments of the real-life libel case from 2022.

The production, adapted by Liz Hennessey and directed by Dan Ellis, transforms the legendary legal showdown between Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy into a sharp satirical experience.

When Rooney's now-iconic social media detective work culminated in her famous post declaring "It's… Rebekah Vardy's account", few could have predicted the media sensation that would follow.

What started as WAGs drama quickly escalated into a full-blown courtroom spectacle that captured headlines worldwide.

Drawing directly from actual court transcripts, the production promises to deliver both the laughs and the gasps that made the original trial such compulsive viewing. As one review puts it: "A hilarious (and slightly tacky) courtroom comedy that's both jaw-dropping and side-splitting."

Vardy V Rooney: The Wagatha Christie Trial runs through Saturday 7th June at Altrincham Garrick Playhouse. Tickets start from £10.50 and are available here.
