A world of pure imagination: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory arrives at Altrincham Garrick this half-term

It opens on Thursday.

Prepare for a sweet adventure this October half-term as the Altrincham Garrick Playhouse transforms into Willy Wonka's magical chocolate factory.

The much-loved musical adaptation of Roald Dahl's beloved story, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, is set to open this Thursday, 23rd October, and runs until Sunday 2nd November.

This spectacular production promises to be a treat for the whole family, combining the enchanting original score by Hairspray creators Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman with classic songs from the iconic 1971 film including Candy Man, I’ve Got a Golden Ticket, Pure Imagination and The Oompa Loompa Song.

With spectacular sets, enchanting costumes, and a heartwarming story for all ages, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory promises a real theatrical treat.

But the magic doesn't stop at the stage door - the Garrick has planned a series of special experiences to make this show truly unforgettable:

  • Visitors can snap a photo with Willy Wonka in the foyer and potentially win tickets to another production by sharing on social media
  • A "Guess the Sweets" competition offers a chance to win a jar of candy and a collection of Roald Dahl books
  • Each Charlie programme contains five Golden Tickets per performance, with exclusive prizes waiting to be claimed
