Altrincham Garrick Playhouse is bringing the magic of one of cinema's most beloved Christmas tales to the stage this week, with a special production of It's a Wonderful Life running until Sunday 23rd November.
The heartwarming production, based on Frank Capra's iconic 1946 film, tells the story of George Bailey, a down-on-his-luck banker in the small American town of Bedford Falls.
Set on Christmas Eve 1946, the tale follows George as he questions whether his life has had any meaning - until his guardian angel intervenes to show him the profound impact he's had on those around him.

"You want the moon? Just say the word, and I'll throw a lasso around it and pull it down," promises one of the story's most memorable lines, capturing the optimism and warmth that has made this tale a festive favourite for nearly eight decades.
Mary Elliott Nelson's stage adaptation preserves all the humour, hope and emotion of Capra's original, which is often cited as the greatest Christmas film ever made.
Under the direction of Barry Purves, the Altrincham production offers audiences a chance to experience this uplifting story of love, community and redemption in an intimate theatrical setting.

With the show nearing the end of its run, only a handful of tickets remain available. The Tuesday and Saturday evening performances currently have the best availability, though theatre-goers are advised to book quickly to secure their seats.
Tickets and further information are available at the Garrick website here, or you can call the Box Office on 0161 928 1677.
