Calling all creatives: Altrincham BID and OYEZ Arts want to hear from you

There's no requirement to be a professional - all voices are welcome.

Altrincham BID and OYEZ Arts are seeking artists, makers and performers from across Altrincham, Hale and Bowdon to help shape the area's creative future.

The partnership is coordinating the local cluster of Trafford Council's borough-wide Our Creative Lives programme, which aims to lay the groundwork for a potential Year of Culture in Trafford.

Over the coming weeks, a series of drop-in conversations and creative meetups will give residents the chance to celebrate what's already happening culturally in the area, identify gaps and put forward ideas for what comes next.

A local artist will also be commissioned to develop Stories of Place, capturing the narratives that make the area distinctive.

The call-out is open to anyone with a passion for local culture, including artists, musicians, filmmakers, digital creators, performers, community project leaders, venue managers, heritage specialists, storytellers and those who support creative initiatives. There is no requirement to be a professional - all voices are welcome.

Mandy White, Director of Altrincham BID, said: ""Our towns are home to an incredible wealth of creative talent, and we want to make sure every voice is heard. This is a genuine opportunity for anyone passionate about culture in Altrincham, Hale and Bowdon to help shape what comes next. We're excited to see who comes forward and what ideas emerge."

Jo Cushing, CEO of OYEZ Arts, said: "Creativity thrives when communities come together to share their stories and ideas. Through Our Creative Lives in Altrincham, Hale and Bowdon, we're opening up a conversation about who we are, what matters to us, and the cultural future we want to build. Whether you're a seasoned artist or someone who simply cares about culture locally, we'd love to hear from you."
