Dobbies Garden Centre in Altrincham is to reopen tomorrow – but there will be new strict guidelines in place to ensure the safety of shoppers and staff.
In the wake of updated government advice, the company has decided to open 54 branches across the UK – and the Green Lane centre, formerly Wyevale Garden Centre, is among those on the list.
While the cafe and play areas will remain closed, the store will be launching a food takeaway menu on Friday.
The other rules are that:
- A limited number of customers will be allowed into the store at any one time
- People will queue outside and two-metre markers will be in place to maintain social distancing
- Customers will be asked to pay with card or contactless, where possible
Hand sanitising and trolley cleaning stations will be located at all store entrances, and protective screens have been installed at the tills.
Graeme Jenkins, chief executive officer of Dobbies, said: “We have taken care to ensure we are following guidance provided by the Government, British Retail Consortium and Horticultural Trade Association to reopen responsibly.
“Our team is well prepared, social distancing measures are in place and we look forward to welcoming customers back into our stores.”
