Award-winning build-to-rent developer Dandara Living has been announced as the headline sponsor of Altrincham’s Trooping the Corgis Jubilee event.

Organised by Altrincham BID and Inch Arts, the event forms part of Altrincham’s celebrations for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

The parading troop of 50 life-sized corgi sculptures will be on guard throughout June in the windows and foyers of businesses around the town.

The event will include contributions from Britain’s best loved punk poet Dr John Cooper Clarke, Russ Meehan aka Qubek best known for his Mancunian Bees murals, and internationally acclaimed contemporary textile and fibre artist Alice Kettle.

Dandara Living’s Managing Director, Jim Davies, said: “The relocation of our head office to Altrincham represents a significant investment in our business, and we hope will help us attract local professional staff who are seeking new opportunities as we begin the next exciting stage in the company’s evolution.

Trooping the Corgis will take place in Altrincham throughout June

“It is also very important to us that we support the communities we work within, and we are delighted to be involved as headline sponsor of Trooping the Corgis, and by hosting one of the Corgis at our new HQ. It’s an event which really celebrates the incredible talent within Altrincham and South Manchester, and I’m sure it will be very popular with both residents and visitors to the town.”

‘Trooping the Corgis’ takes place between 1st-29th June when 50 life-sized decorated Corgis will be displayed around the town to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Guides will be available in the Summer issue of Altrincham Today as well as from pick-up points around the town.

Mandy White, Altrincham’s BID Manager, said: “It’s great to welcome Dandara Living to Altrincham and we are thrilled to have their support with this event. The project will attract lots of visitors to the town during June whilst supporting creativity in our community”.

Each of the Corgis will be available to buy at a public auction event, with proceeds going to the artists who created them as well as to support the work of Inch Arts in the community.

The auction event will be held at Altrincham Town Hall on Thursday 30th June and those wishing to attend can reserve their space via Eventbrite.co.uk
