The Mayor and Mayoress of Trafford, Councillor John and Christine Holden, will also be in attendance, together with Graham Brady, MP for Altrincham and Sale West.

The Duke will also meet staff and patients on the 20-station renal dialysis unit, see the audiology booth in action with a young patient, and talk to staff about the expanded ophthalmology service.

He will be invited to unveil a commemorative plaque and sign the visitors’ book.

The state-of-the-art community hospital opened in April after two years of construction.
