Former Manchester United star Darron Gibson has been charged with drink-driving after an alleged hit-and-run crash involving a cyclist in Bowdon.
The Republic of Ireland international, who now plays for Everton, alledgedly failed to stop after colliding with the cyclist in the incident at around 9.45am on Sunday.
The car, a black Nissan Skyline GT-R Nismo worth £125,000, was then driven to the Shell Service Station on Dunham Road where it collided with a petrol pump on the garage forecourt, Greater Manchester Police have confirmed.

Gibson, 27, has been charged with driving without due care and attention, driving with excess alcohol and failing to stop after a road traffic collision.
It is understood the cyclist suffered minor injuries.
A GMP spokesman said: “This is in relation to an incident on Sunday August 16 where police were called to reports that a car had collided with a cyclist on Park Road, Trafford, and failed to stop before pulling into a petrol station on nearby Dunham Road and colliding with a pump.”

Gibson, who earns £50,000 a week at Everton who he joined in 2012 after 60 games for United, lives with his wife and two young children in a £2m house in Altrincham.
He has been bailed to appear at Trafford Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, September 1.
