Police have arrested a second teenager in connection with a 13-year-old boy who fell ill at Timperley Metrolink after taking what was believed to be ecstasy.
A 16-year-old boy from the Trafford area was arrested on Wednesday, July 20th, on suspicion of supplying Class A drugs and has been bailed until August 26th.
A 15-year-old boy, also from the Trafford area, was previously arrested on suspicion of supplying Class A drugs and perverting the course of justice.
Police were called around 4.30pm on Saturday July 9th to Timperley Metrolink station to reports that a teenage boy had become unwell.
Police said that the boy, 13, is slowly improving.
Detective Inspector Carl Gilbert, from GMP’s Trafford borough, said: “The boy’s condition is currently improving but he is still extremely unwell and we continue to offer our support to the family.
“Please let this serve as a warning to anyone tempted to take drugs – the consequences can be devastating, even fatal.
“The risks are not worth it, so please just think before you go to take something.
“We are continuing our investigation and both teenagers have been assisting with our enquiries. However, I would still urge anyone who has any information about this incident to please call us on 101.”
